Across the water, out on the head, the harpies are calling to me, seductive sirens, feminine guile, personifying the beauty and deceitfulness of the sea...

a drop of sanity in a deranged world

Words

As I walked out one callow spring morning, underneath a tiger-sky sporting dark-orange sinewy stripes, the air began to vibrate with the whip and whir of powerful wings as a pair of alabaster-white swans flew overhead.

I write to fight the good fight, to create something with integrity. My writing is my labour, painstaking and rewarding. I craft these words to delight you.

In a mediocre world that has long since sold its soul, I write to provide a moment of quality and sanity. This is my meaningful work, I write as skilfully as I can, to enrich your day with words.

Read my words on Substack, where I write under a pen name: The Rover. All my work will be sent straight to your inbox when you subscribe.

Counsel

Your reward will be to come into contact with the meaning of all things and you will understand for blissful fleeting moments, what it's all about, this being here, on Earth, as a human being, an indispensable part of the cosmic story.

I help people navigate their difficulties and move forward in life. These online sessions will help if you are feeling stuck, confused or overwhelmed.

I’m not a trained counsellor, therapist or psychologist but I do have the ability to help you understand what’s going on and what you can do about it.

Most of our time together will be spent talking and we’ll explore what’s happening in your life. I will listen to you carefully, reflect back observations and insights and guide you toward your own truth and inner wisdom.

I’m here to be your ally, offer you a listening ear and help you find your true north. Join me and together we’ll go in search of wisdom in hard times.

Story

As we journey toward that horizon, close to a year in the van now, the decisions we make and the turns we take will lead us to the final chapter. I wonder how that last page will read.

I’m writing a book about how our family, nicknamed The Audacious* Six, ditched conventional life (job, house, school) and hit the road to travel around the UK living and working in a van.

I kept a diary from day one and now we’ve made it through a year it’s time to write the book and share the adventure.

There are different ways to publish this story and the likelihood is I’ll use some combination of methods but whatever happens, you will have an opportunity to read it.

To those of you who purchased the book in advance in the early days, thank you again: you are first in line when it comes out.
